Today was the last class session for working on the "Rhythm and Repetition" project. The three drawings above have distinctive characteristics. Dennis' drawing illustrates three-dimensional shapes packed into the space. In addition, he has included a number of textural areas. Ismena's drawing has a whirling pattern of pinwheel like shapes as well as a stacked quality of rectangular elements. Sam's drawing illustrates an overall pattern of six values with the addition of larger clusters forming oval shapes hovering within the mass.
Yesterday the class continued working on their color schemes project. These are due Monday morning. Next week we start drawing in One and Two Point Linear Perspective. Bring rulers.
Danny The class continued working on the "Atmospheric Perspective" project today. These will be due next Monday morning. From there we will start color. Be sure to bring black, white, blue, yellow and red acrylic paint.
Mary Roll Students continued working on their Color Schemes today. The objective for this project is to gain experience in mixing colors and values. In addition, students can witness the affect of color on composition. In particular, observe how the distribution of weight changes as well as the way shapes advance and recede according to temperature and value. The color schemes above are (L to R) monochromatic: warm, tertiary triad, analogous, split-complementary, monochromatic: cool, complementary.
